Kinkaku-ji Temple, 金閣寺
Kinkaku-ji Temple, formally named Rokuon-ji Temple, is one of the most famous temple in Kyoto. It features three-story pavilion, and its two top floors are completely covered in gold. Kinkakuji literally means "The Temple of the Golden Pavilion". Kinkaku-ji Temple was used to be a villa of the shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, after his death it was converted to a temple. On a clear day, the Golden Pavilion beautifully reflects in the calm waters of the bond. The contrast of blue sky, the Golden pavilion and its reflection is breathtaking. Kinkaku-ji Temple is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, its located in northern Kyoto.
