Heian-jingu Shrine, 平安神宮
Heian-jingu Shrine is a Shinto Shrine with brightly colored vermilion pillars and green roof. Heian-jingu Shrine is popular for tourists and its large torii gate is one of the landmark of Kyoto. Heian-jingu Shrine hosts the Jidai Matsuri in October, one of Kyoto's largest festivals of the year, along with Gion Matsuri and Aoi Matsuri. Heian-jingu Shrine is also poplular place to have Shinto style wedding ceremony. Many Japanese couples have their wedding there, as well as taking wedding photos.
